Accordion Book: “L’anno”
Just before leaving for a fantastic Fall Break, I finished my most recent project for my Printmaking and Book Arts class. Now, a week and a half later, I’m finally finding time to put it on my blog. The completed work is an accordion-fold book printed in letterpress and linocut titled “L’anno”—Italian for “The Year.”
My inspiration for the book came on the heels of another project for the same Printmaking and Book Arts class regarding changing of the seasons, and my vision was to mimic the ever-so-popular “Four Seasons” scenes with my own twist. Using a variety of linocut printing techniques, as well as letterpress for the title page, I created a five-print narrative of a year in the life of a tree.
Book measures 16x20cm, edition of 3.
